New Canadian Emerging Entrepreneurs

Are you a new Canadian interested in learning more about entrepreneurship or starting your own business? Take your first step with WESTEM!
Each week, you’ll attend a 3-hour presentation on one aspect of entrepreneurship. Then you’ll spend time throughout the week completing the activities and worksheets found in the online classroom. Before each week comes to an end, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with a coach online to talk about any issues or questions you have during virtual office hours.
The goal of this program is to help new Canadians determine their fit for entrepreneurship, develop a business idea, conduct market research, and create a plan for starting their businesses.

Meet Your Presenter: Paloma Navarro
Paloma has over 20 years of success in North and South America working with entrepreneurs and participating in multiple community economic development projects.
Paloma is originally from Chile and has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, a Master in Computer Arts & Communications, and a Diploma in Implementation of Quality Management Systems. Being fluent in both English and Spanish has enabled her to expand her support for entrepreneurs.
In her journey to date, she has embraced several ventures like tourism operator, restaurant owner and management consulting & training endeavors, experiences that have helped her to understand and be on the client side. Having worked as an Economic Development Officer in rural Southern Alberta, and as Self-employment Program Lead Facilitator at Momentum Calgary, Paloma has developed a passion working with entrepreneurs helping and supporting them to succeed.
