CEO of Impact Applications, Peter Hurd-Watler, is a serial entrepreneur with over a decade of experience starting and managing successful businesses. He secured over $300,000 of grant funding for his previous software company which inspired him to co-found Impact Applications.

Peter is passionate about helping innovative companies get funding to develop technologies and improve the lives of others. He has developed an appreciation and understanding of different peoples and cultures by traveling to over 80 countries. He is an alumnus of Draper University in Silicon Valley and is completing his business and arts degrees at the University of Lethbridge, which has sharpened his superpower of combining big picture financial thinking with the meticulous research and writing.

Veras Technologies Inc.: Where the Journey Began

Peter began his RINSA journey with Veras Technologies Inc., a secure voting and communication platform designed for governments, corporations, and organizations.

Founded while Peter was an undergraduate at the University of Lethbridge, Veras aimed to build trusted digital connections by offering secure voting, verified citizen engagement, and meaningful stakeholder feedback. With a vision to enhance transparency, accessibility, and decision-making, the platform addressed major challenges in traditional communication and voting systems.

Supported by RINSA and the broader Alberta innovation community, Veras laid the groundwork for Peter’s continued success in tech entrepreneurship.
